SOMETHING SIMPLY SPECIAL SUNDAYS PART EIGHT

Dear World. Today is Monday and I must offer my sincere apologies for not posting yesterday. It’s been an amazingly crazy few days of shooting for us beginning with a wedding on Thursday and ending with a pre-wedding on Sunday with a baby shower shoot and a lengthy couples shoot in the middle. My Mother phoned me yesterday afternoon as well (just to throw a spanner in to the works) complaining that I hadn’t used my Picturehouse free tickets so MG and I went late last night (after ANOTHER pre-wedding shoot) to Stratford to see  The Hunger Games which is amazing.

Therefore, I’ve had minimal time. And… today’s Something Simply Special Sundays is going to be a bit of a lazy one. It requires you, the reader, to do a little more work with it. Next week I promise we’ll be back to normal.

What are you scared of jumping in to? I had an interesting conversation about photography with my lovely friend Bobbi (more on this!) sitting in All Bar One in Canary Wharf on Saturday. My fear (3 – 4 years ago) was always that my pursuing photography as a career would somehow dampen my love for it so I kept it as a hobby, charged very little and made my life from full time positions in other industries. And… I never felt accomplished. Even when I went full time last year alongside MG I was scared because it was an unknown and we’re bred to be fearful (in most cases) of the unknown. And, I’ve realised, true passion can’t be taken away. We all have days where we feel our creativity is at a low or we just want to be snuggled inside and not in the rain on a shoot and I think to best overcome that you do have to face your fear full on. I think it’s about taking a camera out every day and I know that it’s true to me; the more I shoot the more I miss it when I’m not.

Alex Beadon is in my book club. I’m enthralled and inspired by the way she approaches thing so I knew to be excited when her first review came back. You can read it on her blog HERE.

I adore this Easter styled shoot on Rock n Roll Bride. I want a rabbit so much!

Giant lit up LETTERS at your wedding? I think so. ♥

Want to shake up your industry? Great post by Seth Godin. (ps. It’s good to be shaken up from time to time.)

We bought a second 35mm 1.4. It’s my new husband.

Okay, team. Lame as it is, that’s me for this week. I’m off to France tomorrow and I’m back on Thursday so Friday and over the weekend I’ll have some amazing shoots and info to share with you here. Please do stay tuned. CC xo
