Peace and understanding are two very obvious feelings for me when surrounded by the epic landscapes of Scotland. I drove over to Crear for this wedding from Edinburgh on the Friday morning, stopping only 30 minutes away from the venue to sit by the water and observe a seal basking on a rock about 50 metres out. There’s a real inner silence when you are forced to take a break from social media, thought processes, day to day life.
Having your wedding at Crear provides all of those things and yet you share in them with the people most close to you. It’s as close to my understanding of heaven as some may come.
Make sure to stop off at the Loch Fyne seemingly placed down into the middle of rolling highs and water-heavy lows in the middle of nowhere; the grilled squid with feta and watermelon salad is melt-in-the-mouth good.
The A Team (Andy, Aster, Anise) had a new addition with a Y (Yohannes) who just a week older than my Jesse. They are the most refreshingly relaxed and confident in each others company little family; seeming to hold that inner peace which is mirrored in Crear. I was so blessed to be able to document this day for them.
“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”
