I think the only way to sum up this incredible experience is the words: ‘A Series Of Fortunate Events’.
Madeleine has been writing features for the wedding blog Love My Dress for quite a few months now and when, with three weeks to go, her post about their elopement in New York and her love for Tim made me sit straight up in my seat and put my thinking cap on, hard.
There are a handful of couples that just go the extra mile. They buy into your spontaneous madness, they click with your character. I remember sitting at dinner with them and 7 of their closest friends in the heart of Williamsburg and explaining that the relationship between couples and myself is always a strange one; I am such a massive part of one of the most memorable days in their life, I see them at their lows and at their highs and I fall in love with them totally. After the day, that drop off, sometimes it’s quite painful. The both separately moving on with our lives. Madeleine said to me, I definitely want to continue to spend time with you. Tim agreed. I can’t describe how much that means.
I’m not really sure there are many more words that can sum this up.
I’ll leave you with this little snippet from my Instagram account as I lay in bed on the morning of my last day in the city: “7.50am. Light slowly seeping through the thin flimsy curtains in this put-together apartment. Yesterday it was sticky hot and rays of sunshine filled the sky. Today; splatterings of rain drops with a greyness that could take the soul from the city.”
Here is their New York elopement:
