I can noticeably see my boy getting bigger; not every day but every week perhaps. It’s the small things.. the extra height his head reaches in his bouncer, the tightness of those 0-3 month clothes (results of a 12lb 7 week old) and how far he can stretch out his arms to hit me lovingly in the face. It’s taken me a little while but I’m beginning to recapture some of my hunger to progress with my photography as I become more used to leaving him at home and, I have to say, I’m slightly pained that I haven’t taken more photographs of his early days. Not planning on having any more mini me’s either makes it all the more important that I can treasure the tiny fingers and toes. I do love these still-slightly-wobbly days and I’m so excited for him to be mobile, for us to have conversations (rather than just saying ‘oohh’ back to each other), go out on date days and for him to consciously appreciate the taste of a banana milkshake.
There are two blogs I follow religiously that make me yearn for travel, yearn for muddy days and beach wear and spilt drinks in the summer heat. The photographs of the little ones evoke such feelings in me as a reader despite not even knowing them that it hits home how important it is to document life, to tell stories. Retain memories.

What are your favourite memories of your little ones? Is there anything you wished you’d done when they were small?
