Kiran and I first spoke on the phone for nearly an hour when her enquiry first came through.
Being confident in my ability to make people feel safe in conversation with me is something that I believe truly puts me in a different space entirely when it comes to wedding photography. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that other photographers don’t care about their couples – not at all. It’s just an almost innate quality that I have that allows me to get to the heart of that connection so much quicker.
Kiran and I definitely connected on that phone call and I was thrilled when she confirmed that she and Nik wanted to book me to photograph the English part of their wedding celebrations held at the Barn at Alswick.
They loved those images so much and they believed in our friendship so much that I was invited to capture the Indian part of their wedding celebrations in Birmingham just a few months later.
Here are some of my favourite images from that day.
