Wick Bottom Barn. Go on, say it aloud. It rolls around your mouth, especially with my inability to say the letter ‘R’ without a Scottish growl left over from my years in Edinburgh. The name almost evokes thoughts of Midsummer Nights Dream. Ash & Paul’s wedding was certainly a dream, although technically not in mid-summer. Who knows when summer is anymore in this country!?
I digress, as per.
I don’t know where to start with this one, in all honesty. Throw together two gorgeous human beings – both who excel at being creative – throw in an orange VW, a One Day Bridal dress flown from Australia and a LOT of candles and this is what you get.
Although, it isn’t as simple as that. Ash & Paul created something spectacular and personal to them; with their own wedding logo, a pink Smeg fridge and a step-mother who made the most amazing cakes.
I am a sucker for detail, I won’t try to hide from that. I adore being able to gain fast access to another’s personality by visually consuming the aesthetics of their most perfect day. It says a lot about them, you know. More than any of that though… it’s the people who make it. And gosh, these people were something. They can bloody dance, that’s for sure.
Wick Bottom Barn is situated in the Wiltshire countryside down a single track that you have to trust will eventually provide you with what you want. It’s a blank slate; so it really can be designed for your wedding any which way to reflect your love. It has gorgeous inside and outside space and the sunset… don’t even get me started on that.
See for yourselves…
