Free 30 Minute Intro Session

April 2026

Not sure where to start with your hospitality content? I'm offering free 30 minute intro sessions throughout April for restaurants, cafés, bars and hospitality businesses who want to see what's possible.

No pitch. No obligation. Just a conversation with someone who's actually run a Michelin-recommended restaurant and spent years behind the camera.

Limited spots available.

Are you looking for a food photographer in Derby?

Your food tells a story. The question is whether your photos are telling it properly.

I've worked every corner of hospitality; front of house, bar, kitchen, management, and most recently running a Michelin recommended, 2 AA Rosette restaurant alongside my chef partner Rory. I know what makes a venue special because I've lived it. That's what I bring to every shoot.

I'm not just someone who turns up with a camera. I understand your margins, your seasons, your Friday night service and your Monday morning prep. I know which dishes need to be shot in fifteen seconds and which ones can wait. I know your sauce is going to split if we faff around too long. And I know your team have got actual jobs to do that aren't watching me adjust a reflector.

I come in, I work around you, I get what we need, and I leave without making your day harder.

Every shoot includes photo and short video content as standard; menu shots, atmosphere, team, behind the scenes, whatever's most useful to you. I bring a full lighting kit so we're never at the mercy of a dark corner or a grey November afternoon. And there are no licensing fees on top, ever.

Food Photography Packages:

Monthly retainer; £75 a month One hour of content per month, mix of photo and short video. Ideal for staying consistent on social and keeping your listings fresh without committing to a big shoot each time. Minimum 6 months.

2 hour shoot; £250 The sweet spot for most Derby restaurants, cafés and takeaways. Covers your key dishes properly, gets through a full menu if the kitchen is quick, and doesn't take up half your day.

Half day; £500 Food, interiors, team, atmosphere and BTS content. Good for new openings, website relaunches or anywhere that needs more than just menu shots.

Full day; £1,000 For multi-site businesses or anyone who needs a really comprehensive session; food, team, interiors, video, across one or more locations.

No licensing fees on any package. The images are yours.

Based in Derbyshire? There's a local rate.

I'm based in Melbourne, Derbyshire and the local food scene is the one I care most about. Independent restaurants, family run cafés, small takeaway brands doing something brilliant; these are the places that make a food scene worth having.

So if you're based in Derbyshire or within roughly 20 miles, here's your rate:

2 hour shoot; £200 Half day; £390 Full day; £780

Just mention it when you get in touch and that's the rate we'll work to. No catch, no paperwork.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Food Photography in Derbyshire

Why do I need professional food photography for my business?

In today’s visual-scrolling world, great food photos are a must! Customers are drawn to visually appealing and honest content, especially when it comes to food. High-quality photography helps your restaurant, café, or bar stand out online, attracting new customers and showcasing your menu in a way that gets people excited about what you're offering. Plus, it tells the story of your brand, setting the right tone and showing off the care you put into your dishes.

What’s included in a food photography session?

Each session is tailored to your needs, but typically, I’ll capture multiple angles of each dish, on-site location shots of your venue, and team headshots. I use a full lighting kit and can work with various backdrops to create the perfect setting for your brand. If you’re looking for specific shots, just let me know, and I’ll make it happen!

How long does a food photography session take?

It depends on the complexity of the shoot, but I offer both half-day and full-day packages. A half-day session (around 4 hours) is perfect for a small menu or a few key shots, while a full-day session (around 8 hours) is ideal for a larger shoot with multiple dishes and location shots. Either way, I’ll work efficiently to get the best shots without rushing.

Can I use the photos for my website and social media?

Yes, absolutely! Once your session is complete, you’ll receive all the high-quality images, and you’re free to use them across your website, social media, and marketing materials. The goal is to give you photos that will work hard for your brand and help you stand out across all platforms.
There are no additional licensing costs.

Do you provide retouching or edits?

Yes, I include basic retouching in every package. This covers things like minor blemishes, adjusting lighting, and enhancing colours to ensure your dishes look their absolute best. If you need more advanced editing, feel free to ask, and I’ll provide a quote.

Do you work with businesses outside Derby?

While I’m based in Derbyshire, I’m happy to travel to neighbouring areas for food photography sessions. Whether you’re in Nottingham, Leicester, or beyond, I’m ready to capture your culinary creations wherever you are! Please just be advised that out of Derbyshire I charge mileage at 45p a mile.

How do I book a session?

Booking is simple! Just fill in the contact form below, and we’ll chat about your needs, menu, and vision. I’ll send you a quote and find a time that works for you. Once you’re happy, we’ll lock in the details and get ready for your shoot! I take a £100 deposit, with the remaining 50% due when images are ready to be sent. Nothing will be delivered digitally or otherwise until the invoice is paid in full.

What’s the best way to prepare for my food photography session?

To get the best results, I recommend prepping your dishes just as you would for service. Let me know if you need help with anything, from dish styling to setting the scene in your venue. I’ll guide you through the process and make sure we get everything we need to showcase your food in the best possible way.

Can you take photographs for my Deliveroo account?

Yes, absolutely! I know myself as a user I’m more likely to order from restaurants that have beautiful (but honest, I can tell stock images!) photographs of their dishes.
