Best of 2023
As I sit writing, it’s April of 2024 and life remains as chaotic as it has since the pandemic. In many, many, wonderful ways. And in some ‘can’t see the wood for the trees’ way, too.
My youngest son, Freddie, was born in 2022. He threw a bit of a spanner into the works of rebuilding my wedding photography bookings following 2020/2021 postponements, alongside an additional career running a restaurant (and now, an event catering business) with my partner Rory. I won’t delve too far into the history of the last 36 months, but it’s safe to say I didn’t return to weddings with as much of a bang as I experienced pre-2019.
However, it’s been time well spent, and necessary time restoring my love in order to prepare myself for the changes the industry/social media/marketing has faced.
I’m running headfirst into 2024 with fresh eyes, a second camera body, an off camera flash set-up and brand new connections and inspirations.
I can count the weddings I photographed in 2023 on two hands, with some gorgeous family portrait work thrown in too. Below are some of my favourite moments from those sessions.
