Wedding Photography FAQ’s - Derbyshire & Beyond
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Derbyshire?
Wedding photography in Derbyshire typically ranges from £900 to £1,600 depending on coverage and experience. I offer a full-day package at £1,500, with occasional local discounts, and a flexible half-day option too.
What’s included in your Derbyshire wedding photography packages?
You’ll receive either full-day or half-day storytelling coverage, 300+ individually edited images, a private online gallery, and preview images delivered within 72 hours of your wedding day.
Do you offer full-day or half-day wedding coverage?
Yes. Full-day coverage is up to 10 hours (from prep to dancing), while half-day is around 5 hours — perfect for smaller celebrations or elopements.
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?
Most couples book around 12 months in advance, but I keep my calendar intentionally minimal and often have last-minute space, especially for smaller weddings or weekday dates.
Do you travel outside Derbyshire for weddings?
Definitely. I’m Derbyshire-based, but I travel often — I’ve photographed weddings in the Seychelles, Bali, Egypt, America, New Zealand, and Thailand. I’d love to join you wherever your celebration takes place.
Can we meet you before booking?
Yes! I offer a relaxed video call or in-person meeting. If possible, I also love visiting the venue with you so everything feels familiar and relaxed on the day.
What style of wedding photography do you offer?
My style is a mix of natural, candid storytelling with gentle direction when needed. Think real moments, soft light, honest connection — no awkward posing or cheesy smiles.
Do you provide edited digital images and how many?
Yes — you’ll receive 300+ high-resolution images, all individually edited with my signature style. These are delivered in a private gallery for easy download and sharing, with preview favourites sent within 72 hours.
How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?
Your full wedding gallery will be delivered within 5 weeks of the wedding day, with previews sent shortly after so you’re not waiting too long.
Are you familiar with Derbyshire venues, and do you offer venue referrals?
I’ve photographed at many stunning Derbyshire venues and am always happy to share insight and recommendations. I focus on creating galleries that venues love to share, helping you and your venue shine.
Do you photograph church weddings and civil ceremonies?
Yes — and everything in between! From traditional church weddings to civil ceremonies and Humanist or friend-led celebrations, I love documenting each story in a way that feels personal and relaxed. You can view lots of wedding examples on my journal here.
Can we book engagement photos with you too?
Absolutely! An engagement shoot is a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and celebrate this exciting stage together. It’s perfect for save-the-dates, invites, or just as a keepsake.
Do you offer wedding albums or prints?
Yes, I offer both bespoke albums and fine-art prints to showcase your images beautifully. These can be added at any time — before or after the wedding.
Are you insured and do you have backup equipment?
Yes — I’m fully insured with public liability cover up to £5 million, and I always carry backup camera bodies, lenses, batteries, and memory cards on every shoot.
Do you work alone or with a second shooter?
I usually work solo, which suits most weddings perfectly. For celebrations with more than 120 guests, I recommend adding a second shooter — but it’s entirely your choice.
We’re not comfortable in front of the camera — is that a problem?
Not at all. Most of my couples say the same thing! My approach is relaxed and natural — I focus on storytelling, not stiff posing. I’ll guide you gently when needed, but most of the time you won’t even notice I’m there. Think quiet moments, natural movement, and the real connection between you.
Will you pose us on the day?
I won’t put you into awkward, cringey poses — but I’ll absolutely give you gentle direction if you’d like it. My style is all about making you feel comfortable and confident, and I’ll help guide you into the best light and setting while still keeping it totally you.
Do you take family group photos?
Yes, definitely. These images are really important to many couples and families, and I make sure to capture them in a way that’s quick, calm, and never stressful. I’ll help you create a short group shot list in advance, so we can fly through them and get you back to enjoying your day.
