A Christmas Wedding at Soho Farmhouse
Soho Farmhouse Wedding Photographer —
Sophie & Gregg’s Festive Three-Day Celebration
If you are planning a Soho Farmhouse wedding and want it to feel warm, personal, and unforgettable, you are in the right place.
Sophie and Gregg hosted their three-day Christmas wedding at the Farmhouse, and it was full of thoughtful touches, stylish details, and plenty of fun.
Whether you are dreaming of winter sparkle or just love the idea of having everyone together for a weekend, their wedding is full of inspiration.
As a Soho Farmhouse wedding photographer, I quietly capture the magic as it unfolds — the cosy moments by the fire, the laughter echoing through the cabins, and the way your people come together like family for a weekend that feels equal parts celebration and retreat.
A Christmas Wedding at Soho Farmhouse
Sophie, a family lawyer, and Gregg, a movie producer whose family helped bring the Bond franchise to life, made the most of everything Soho Farmhouse has to offer. Their celebration spanned three days—giving them time to enjoy welcome drinks, a full wedding day, and a relaxed brunch before waving goodbye.
Soho Farmhouse in December already feels cosy and atmospheric, with log fires, twinkling lights, and natural winter textures all around. The couple added to the magic with their own festive styling and personal details that made the whole weekend feel completely unique to them.
Bridal Prep in the Farmhouse
Sophie got ready in the main beautiful Farmhouse on site, surrounded by her bridesmaids and closest family. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of laughter. Hair and makeup unfolded at a gentle pace while everyone sipped champagne in pyjamas. It was the perfect balance of excitement and calm—exactly what you want on the morning of your wedding.
Having the whole bridal party in one place meant there was time to really enjoy the build-up, rather than rushing from room to room. The available light in the farmhouse also made it a dream for candid, quiet photos.
The Ceremony: Personal and Intimate
Sophie and Gregg’s ceremony took place in the barn, which was styled simply with soft winter greenery and flickering candles. Two close family friends led the ceremony, which gave it a beautiful, relaxed tone, interspersed with a choir and personal readings. It felt like a real reflection of them—warm, honest, and full of joy.
They had their legal ceremony straight after this inside the greenhouse with just their parents. It was short, sweet, and surrounded by glass walls and candle light. Combining both elements meant they had the official side covered while keeping the main event completely personal.
After the legal ceremony Sophie went back to the Farmhouse to let her hair down - literally!
Dinner in the Barn and Marquee
After the ceremony, guests moved into the other barn for dinner. A large marquee was attached to the space, giving them room to stretch out and really enjoy the evening.
The tables were full of Christmas crackers, candles, and greenery—relaxed and festive without feeling overdone. Laughter echoed through the room all night, with heartfelt speeches and spontaneous dancing between courses.
This setup worked so well because it gave the evening its own rhythm. There was space to sit, space to mingle, and space to dance—without guests ever feeling like they were being ushered from one place to another.
Best Photo Locations for a Soho Farmhouse Wedding
As an experienced Soho Farmhouse wedding photographer, I’m confident in saying that you will want a variety of backdrops for your couple portraits and group photos. Here are a few standout spots:
The barn interiors – perfect for warm, candlelit couple shots later in the day
Woodland paths and courtyards – ideal for natural family photos with beautiful soft light
The lake area – great for early-in-the-day portraits, especially when the sun is low
Sophie and Gregg also brought in a giant snow globe as a photo opportunity. It added a fun, personal twist for guests and made for some brilliant images.
Standout Details and Suppliers
Everything about this wedding was thoughtful and considered, from the fashion to the stationery.
Sophie’s Hermione de Paula gown was entirely bespoke, with intricate details that reflected her style and the season
Her sister Lucy wore a custom-made maid of honour dress that complemented the bridal look beautifully
Stationery by Deabill & Quince tied the theme together with a soft winter palette and elegant design
Videography by Jeff Wood Visuals captured all the emotion and energy of the weekend with real warmth
Favourite Moments
The speeches were one of the emotional highlights. Sophie surprised Gregg with a song on the ukulele during hers, which had everyone laughing and crying in equal measure.
Their custom snow globe favours were a brilliant seasonal touch and gave each guest a keepsake to take home. These personal moments are what made their Soho Farmhouse wedding feel so connected and heartfelt.
Last but not least, the fireworks! What a way to end an incredible celebration.
Planning Tips for Your Own Soho Farmhouse Wedding
If you are considering this venue, here are a few tips from experience:
Plan for light – In winter, it gets dark early, so schedule your couple portraits shortly before sunset
Use the venue’s natural atmosphere – You do not need to over-style; Soho Farmhouse looks best when you lean into its textures and charm
Spread your events out – Three-day weddings work so well here. A welcome drink and a low-key send-off meal make everything feel more relaxed
